BOMAG’s New BR 95 Vibratory Plate Yields Flush Compaction In The Tightest Spaces
BOMAG's new BR 95 single-direction vibratory plate is designed to compact right up to the edges of very small spaces with easy steering and low vibration. A 360-degree guide handle—like a steering wheel—and a very low centre of gravity makes the tamper simple to manoeuvre. The compactor has a 450-millimetre (17.7-inch) square base plate with rounded corners. BOMAG says the BR 95 is optimised for flush compaction of gravel, sand, and mixed-grain soils.
Ergonomics
The 92-kilogram (203-pound) BR 95 has a working speed of 30 metres per minute (98 feet per minute). Its single-pass fill height is rated at 25 centimetres (9.8 in.), which depends upon the material being compacted.
The BR 95’s hand-arm vibrations are rated at less than 2.5 metres per second squared (8.2 feet per second squared), which reduces documentation requirements and allows the user up to eight hours of operation per day.
Long Service Life
BOMAG designed the BR 95 so that none of its upper components protrude past the perimeter of its base plate, allowing for flush compaction in every direction.
The machine has a 4.7-horsepower (3.5-kilowatt) engine with a side guard and downward-facing exhaust protected by a heat plate. A cyclone pre-filter extends the life of the air filter. BOMAG designed the BR 95 for minimal wear and tear, protecting the V-belt and all major components from impact, dirt, and dust.
